Christmas greetings!  Yet another year has flown by and it's time, on behalf of all at My Father's House, to wish each of you a happy and blessed Christmas and a prosperous new year! This also comes with our most grateful thanks for your help and prayers. It has been an eventful year following a full recovery from the setbacks due to the COVID-19 pandemic and all the disruptions that it caused in 2022.  This past year it has been full steam ahead with our work with the children while expanding more into their families. We have been able to do this, without limiting our commitments to the desperate needs of the children thanks to our recognition by the government around us providing a vital service to the population! So we can report that help has been given to over three hundred mums, through training courses that aim to help them to increase their income. Courses have included, Pastry cooking, beauty courses, care to the elderly, small business and economic management, and how to become self-employed.  This outreach to the families has been entirely financed by local and national government, with the only condition being that it doesn't interfere with what we already do. In other words, your giving towards My Father's House is now being multiplied severalfold through grants from the government.  Believing that this is the way forward we have been working on new courses for 2024. Those already approved include new areas of fitness and health care, and self-defence. Meanwhile, as the year  comes to an end the celebrations begin! Our annual campaign amongst friends will mean all of the children will receive at least one small present and a special Christmas lunch. Following Christmas (which is only one day here) and one more for new years day, January is the school summer holidays so we will go into the New year being busy with summer Holiday Clubs in January.  Finally, just in case you've forgotten that time moves on, here's a recent photo! of Simea and myself (see above). We pray you have a blessed Christmas as we remember the birth of our Lord. Ian and Simea Meldrum.   This was received too late for the previous updates of the website in December 2023 or January 2024.
